HOW TO READ THOSE PDF FLYERS

WHEN I CLICK ON THE FILE, I GET A BLANK SCREEN

Clicking on the File Name (PDF Flyer for example) will launch your Adobe Acrobat Reader. It may take a moment or two before the page comes up, especially on older computers or older browsers. During this wait you will be looking at a blank screen. Once the Reader is launched, however, all the articles will come up quickly.

HOW DO I PRINT THE FLYER?

If you want to Print a flyer, click on the printer icon, top left on your Reader Menu Bar once the document is open. A print dialogue box should appear in the same manner as other print jobs. Be sure you have the option 'shrink page to fit' unchecked. On some Reader Print Dialogue boxes it will be Page Scaling with a dropdown menu that should be set to NONE.

I AM ABLE TO READ ONE PDF FILE BUT THE NEXT WON'T OPEN.

We have noticed that opening PDF files one after another can tend to fill available memory - eventually documents will fail to open. To alleviate this, you could empty your browser cache:

On the PC, choose Tools --> Internet Options --> General --> Temporary Internet Files --> Delete Files.

For MACs, Choose Edit --> Preferences --> Web Browser --> Advanced --> History - Clear and Cache - Empty Now.

Or, for both operating systems, simply quit your browser and reopen. The cache will be empty and you can continue to open and print the documents.

Another method to consider would be to save the document directly to your disc without opening in the browser.

HOW DO I SAVE A FILE TO MY HARD DRIVE?

Saving the flyer to your hard drive will avoid having to use your browser to read it. As long as you have Acrobat Reader on your computer somewhere (and most people do, I think it comes bundled with operating systems everywhere) you can click on the document and it will open.

On a PC (Windows)
Right click on desired link (for example PDF Flyer) and choose Save Target As. Choose a location on your drive.

On the MAC click on the link (for example PDF Flyer) and hold, then choose Download Link To Disk from the pop up menu. On the newer macs I have noticed that you point to the link and press the control key - a menu will pop up with your options, choose Download Link to Disk. Choose a location on your computer, or simply choose DESKTOP.
